Sammy Joe Hernandez, 58, of Midland, died on Monday, August 30, 2010, at his residence. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 2, 2010 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stanton, with Father James Plagens, and Deacon Clemente Villa, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Rosary service will be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church.Sammy was born on March 28, 1952, in Monahans, Texas and grew up in Stanton, graduating from Stanton High School. He loved motorcycles and enjoyed fishing and camping. Sammy was a very caring and loving brother, father and son.Survivors include two daughters, Samantha Castellon of Midland and Ashley Hernandez of San Angelo; his father, Senaido Hernandez, Jr. of Midland; four sisters, Delma Hernandez, Anna Natividad, Sylvia Munoz and Lisa Salazar all of Midland; and two grandchildren, Dominique Salgado and Alayna Fuentes.
