Sabrina Lynn Darby met her Savior face to face on March 31, 2023. We know she is rejoicing in our Father’s presence, mind and body fully restored.
She was born to Red and Wanda Key on July 23, 1958 in Hobbs, New Mexico. She spent most of her life in Midland, Texas and graduated from Lee High School. She met the love of her life, Larry Kim Darby and they married on April 3, 1976.
Sabrina loved her family and friends dearly. She worked for many years in the oil industry and had the blessing of working for David Overton at Cal-Mon Oil, who in her time of need, went above and beyond for her. She loved to be active and enjoyed playing indoor and outdoor soccer. Sabrina participated and led many fundraising walks. She was active in her nieces and nephews lives and loved them with all of her heart.
Even during her time with Alzheimer’s, she was known for her caring assistance to those who resided alongside her at Ashton Medical Lodge and Brookdale. Towards the end of her journey, Sabrina may not have recognized those she cherished, but she still looked at us with love and without a doubt, held precious memories in her heart. She always wore a smile on her face. Sabrina loved country music and was a lifelong Cowboys fan.
Sabrina was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Kim Darby, her parents Red and Wanda Key. She leaves behind to cherish her memory: sister-in-law Madonna Apple (Bob), sister-in-law Laura Grimes, sister-in-law Cindy St. John, sister Shelby Stevenson; as well as, nieces and nephews: Brian Ridgell (Angela), Bobby Apple (Karin), Danya Brady (Lane), Jennifer James (Sam), Robert Grimes (Bobbie), Becca and David St. John, Trista Flitcraft, Derek Ramsey and many great nieces and nephews. Sabrina was dearly blessed to have the sweetest friendship in Tina Van Veen and Leo Grimes, who remained by her throughout her illness.
The family will receive guests from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
