Ryan Fite was 19 years old. On December 4th , 2020 everything changed. He became a cherished memory which will never vanish. Instead of a light fading, he became a burning flare of warmth felt by all. Ryan’s reach stretched far beyond the walls of his home. Beyond his enormous circle of friends. Past the limits of love. He left an impression on countless people. He will never be forgotten by those who knew him, and they will never not feel the impact he left and still has on them.

Ryan was born in Wichita Falls, TX on August 14th, 2001. Before his first year, he and his father, James moved to Big Spring, TX to be closer to family. Later in life, his father would introduce him to Amanda, who he would eventually refer to as “my mom” to people. Ryan also met 3-year-old Alyssa who would latch onto him as his little sister. James and Amanda married, and a family of 4 was formed.

He attended Big Spring High where band was life. He played percussion and loved everything about it. He graduated in 2019, and even after high school, would go to any and everything where he could watch his successors in band play.

Ryan had several families besides James, Amanda, and Alyssa. He was welcomed in many of his friend’s homes, where he would take off to for sometimes days. No one worried because he was always with “family” no matter where he was. Ryan had no problem saying, “I love you” and following through by showing that love. If he knew you, then you were genuinely cared about. Everything about Ryan… his heart, his impact, his reach… is infinite. Because of that, Ryan will not be forgotten. Instead, he will be forever.

Survivors include his parents, James and Amanda Fite; his sister Alyssa Wellner; a brother Matthew Carrasco; grandparents Don and Ann Fite, Lisa Kennedy, Edward Carrasco; and many other loving family members and even more friends.

Ryan was preceded in death by his birth mother, Brianne Carrasco.

Ryan will lie in state Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 11AM to 9PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 2:00PM at Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Ryan was such a sweetheart. I was in band with him over the course of about 6 years. He was a great person who always showed kindness to me and was always so himself. I was never very close with him, but he was truly one of the kindest people I have ever met.

Ryan was really, truly, an amazing friend. I have so many stories about the times that he made me feel actually wanted which isn’t always easy to come by. He always seemed to have such a difficult time saying goodbye and honestly? It was really an honor that he actually wanted to hang out with me that much. Not only was he just an amazing friend, he basically got me my old job. He let my friends and I into the theatre for a movie and suddenly I was offered an interview. Working with him was even more amazing than just being his classmate since he always make the work day so fun. When he quit, he left me a really sweet little note saying how much fun he had working with me, and I still carry it in my wallet to this day. Each Christmas he gave amazing gifts and I’m devastated that I won’t be able to try to pay him back this year. Last year he gave me a full blown lightsaber! So expensive right? I barely even felt like I deserved such a gift and he gave it to me without a second thought, i am just so honored that he thought I was that important. When he took my dads class, he left a note at the end of the year telling him that he “raised his daughter right” and while I probably shouldn’t have seen it, I’m so glad that I got the chance to read it. He was just such a special guy and it hurts so much that I can’t just text him and ask if we can hang out anymore. He had one of the most unique senses of humor I’ve ever seen and it made it all the more fun to hang out with him. So thank you, Ryan’s parents, for raising him right.

I do not know what words fit in this time. I do have words to comfort Ryan’s family. I just say, “It is too soon” to complete his duty in the World. He was quiet and smile student in my class. He will be missed but not be forgotten. My deepest sympathy and prayers to Ryan’s family.

I got the pleasure of being on the BSHS drumline when Ryan was a freshman. I saw a good kid with a great talent. He always had a smile on his face, and always would always be able to make you laugh. He had a genuinely sweet soul and never knew an enemy. If he met you once, he knew you as a friend. Rest well Ryan, till we meet again.

Dude. When I lived in big spring. You were my best friend. Even tho you were so much older than me. I looked up to you so much. I thought you were the coolest person ever, you were good at video games, you were nerdy. Dude I thought you were amazing. We hung out so much too. And when I moved you were the first person I said goodbye too. Ik since I moved we haven’t talked as much but we were still close. I’ll miss you dude. Rest In Peace

Ryan was an amazing young man and I am proud to be able to have called him my friend. As a manager, you are not supposed to have favorite employees, but Ryan was truly my favorite. Every shift we worked together at Cinemark was full of laughter, fun, and joy. That was thanks to Ryan. His caring spirit could brighten up any room, and his humor was never ending. My heart goes out to his family, and his friends. The memories he has left for those who were touched by his presence in their lives will never be forgotten, myself included. Rest In Peace brother.

You are loved . You will be missed. The world was better for your presence. The tragedy of your passing will forever be overshadowed by the love and joy you unselfishly shared to those around you . I love you mimi , I love you more baby were the our last parting words . I will always hold them close. together, with the memory of your sweet smile , that will be enough. I now realize even more how blessed I have been to have taught Ryan while he was in band program at Big Spring ISD. He was a special kind of student to me and there was never a moment that he took for granted in working to be the best role model for the Drumline that he was a part of within the Steer Band. He kept in close contact after he graduated and never failed to put smile on anyone’s face. This news has shattered my heart, but I rejoice in knowing that one day I’ll see Ryan again through the hope of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. I will forever remember Ryan Fite. Praying for James and Amanda, and all who loved this precious soul. My deepest condolences to you all.

I had the pleasure of being Ryan first supervisor at his first job at the movie theater. I remember a shy and a little frightened young man at first but then he quickly blossomed into a confident and very efficient young man. He has such an amazing soul and we had many moments of laughter over his time with us and after as well. I will remember him always. Its not every day we get to know a star and he was a star that shone the most brightly.

I am so sorry for your loss. Ryan was one of the best kids I knew. Always so kind.
