Ruby Marie Allred

Ruby Marie Allred, 89, of Ackerly, died on Thursday, August 2, 2001, in a Lubbock hospital. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, August 6, 2001, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Royce Clay, retired Church of Christ minister and Larry Marshall, minister of the Knott Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. She was born as Ruby Marie Hughes to P. O. and Maggie Hughes in Cross Plains, Texas on May 19, 1912. She married Cecial Allred on July 25, 1934 in Big Spring, Texas. Mrs. Allred was a member of the Howard County Sheriff's Posse, the Martin County Historical Museum, Friends of 4-H, and the Heritage Museum. She was also a member of the Knott Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Cecial Allred of Ackerly; one daughter, Joan Blagrave and husband, Derwood, of Ackerly; two grandsons, Stan Blagrave and wife, Carla, and Steve Blagrave and wife, Tracie, all of Ackerly; five great-grandchildren, Shelli Blagrave, Krista Blagrave, Brittni Blagrave, Sean Blagrave and Trevor Blagrave; and one brother, Vennie Hughes of Knott. Pallbearers will be Larry Shaw, Stan Smith, Bimbo Allred, Larry Nix, Jody Nix, Danny Allred, John Roy Allred and Eddie Herm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.,
