Rosella (Rose) Govert Munden, age 96, passed away at Manor Park in Midland, Texas on Sunday, September 24, 2017.Rose was born on the family farm near Willowdale, Kansas, on October 28, 1920, the daughter of Rosena Louise Greiving Govert and Joseph Govert, Sr. She graduated from Kingman High School and on January 16th, 1940, married Howard Francis Munden, also of Kingman.Rose and Howard lived in northwest Kansas and later moved to Liberal, Kansas before moving to Midland, Texas, where they retired.Rose was a homemaker and an accomplished seamstress. She also worked as a restaurant hostess and at Penney's in Liberal and later in Midland was employed at Bob's Pharmacy, H&R Pharmacy and then Fox Photo.Her husband, Howard, preceded her in death on November 13, 1996 in Midland, Texas, as did her sisters Pauline (Sister Rosalia) Govert and Bernadine Werner. Rose attended St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Midland.Rose is survived by her brother, Julius Govert, Cunningham, Kansas and two daughters, Carol Welty and Art Stephens of Murrieta, California, Jeanette Bozarth and her husband Jack, Joplin, Missouri, and one son, Steve Munden and wife Linda, Midland, Texas; two grandchildren, Jeff Munden and wife Leisha, Odessa, Texas, and Amy Bozarth Ellis and husband Corey, and great-grandchildren Brynn and Sloan Munden, Chad Ellis and Zoe and Killian Barber.The funeral service will be held on Saturday October 7,2017,10AM at the Livingston Funeral Home in Kingman, Kansas.The family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation in lieu of flowers.,
