Ron was born November 8, 1953 in Haskell, Texas. He graduated from Big Spring High School with the class of 1972 and went on to receive his BS degree in Business Administration from Rice University in 1976. While at Rice he was a member of the university football team. Always a good athlete, he enjoyed water and snow skiing; watching his Dallas Cowboys; being on the lake, and camping. He especially loved being in Red River, New Mexico. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, and was a licensed airplane pilot. In addition to flying actual planes, he enjoyed flying model airplanes as well. Ron always loved Ford Mustangs, and also raced and worked on race cars. This was in his DNA having been brought up in the automobile industry where he worked at his father’s Ford dealership. Ron was the Vice President and used car manager at the former Bob Brock Ford of Big Spring. Most of all he enjoyed staying connected with family and friends. He enjoyed supporting his children and grandchildren during their years of playing sports, and he kept the connections he had made in high school and college throughout his life.
