Rocky was born November 15, 1966 in Santa Anna, TX to Dolores and Aurelio Salazar Sr. After graduating from high school, Rocky joined the Marines. He was honorably discharged July 11, 1988. After serving in the military, Rocky worked as a general contractor and was always there with a helping hand for anyone in need.
Rocky married Jimmie Kelly April 18, 1986 and together they raised a beautiful family. Rocky impacted the lives of many of his family and friends. He loved his military service, being with his family and playing with his grandchildren.
Rocky is survived by his wife Jimmie Salazar; two sons: Rocky Salazar Jr. and Elijah Salazar (Laura); daughter: Megan Salazar (Chris Boss), all of Big Spring; five grandsons: Ryan and Elias Ramirez, Rocky Salazar III, Richard (Bubs) Villa and Zion Boss; two granddaughters: Ally Taylor and Amelia Salazar; five brothers: John Salazar Sr. of Peridot, AZ, Aurelio Salazar and Jesse Salazar of Big Spring, Abel Salazar of San Antonio and Ruben Aguilar of Colorado City; three sisters: Mary Villanueva of San Antonio, Sara Redwine of Colorado City and Lupe Liedecke of Sand Springs; father-in-law: Dale Kelly of De Queen, AR; sister-in-law: Sylvia Salazar of Coahoma and 4 boys who were thought of as sons, Kevin and Jesse Berner, Matt Mendoza and Jamie Redwine Jr.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Aurelio and Dolores Salazar, two brothers: Paul and Mariano Salazar; sister Esther Tobar; two grandchildren: Micah and Amari; mother-in-law: Lorene Kelly; sister-in-law: Manuela Salazar and a brother-in-law: John Liedecke.
