Robert “Bob” Perry, 83, of Midland, passed away on September 7, 2021. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:00 am at Resthaven Cemetery.
Bob was born on January 6, 1938 to Dicy and Doniree “D.R.” Perry in Odessa, TX. After graduating from Odessa High School and starting a family, Bob joined the Navy and served as a radarman aboard the U.S.S. Cook. After serving four years, Bob moved his family to Midland, Texas where he would begin a career in construction that would span 6 decades. Thirty of those years were spent at N.C. Sturgeon where Bob served as a superintendent, trusted confidant and faithful friend to Chuck Sturgeon.
Bob was a faithful and loving husband, a role model father, a trusted friend, an honorable colleague and an industry leader. He was also a beloved and treasured Papa and Daddy Bob to 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. On the rare occasion Bob was not working, he enjoyed travel, camping and fishing, and time with his trusted companions Sadie and Maggie.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Perry; his brother Ron and wife Marcella Perry of Richardson; his sister Martha Jevas of Friendswood; his daughters Carol Gardner of Brandon, Mississippi and Kathy Alverson of Dallas; his son Wade and wife Stacey Perry of Arlington; his step-daughter Tammy and husband Guy Newell of San Angelo; step-daughter Tracy and husband Robbie Phernetton of San Antonio; step-son Chris and wife Amy McCracken of Midland.
He is preceded in death by his father D.R., his mother Dicy and his sister Mary Helen Biggerstaff.
Pallbearers are Justin Gardner, Justin Gard, Jay Gard, Tanner McCracken, Tyler McCracken, Kolten Crawford, Brock Dixon and Jacob McCracken.
The family suggests memorials be donated to The American Cancer Society.
Due to COVID and CDC Suggested Restrictions, there will be no reception following the service.
