Robert Michael Hunt

Robert Michael Hunt was born in Odessa, Texas on December 27, 1976.  He lived in the Midland/Odessa area all his life.  He attended Robert E. Lee High School, Midland College, and UT Permian Basin.

Robert worked for UPS throughout college and then worked with USPS as a mail carrier until 2008.  Following that, he worked in various positions in the oil field industry and for Midland County, as part of the road repair crew. In addition, Robert worked and trained to be a Compliance Review Investigator for the Texas Department of Public Safety out of the Midland office.

Robert is survived by his father, John Wayne “Skipper” Hunt of San Angelo, Texas, and his mother and step-father, Cindi and Coy Marlar of Burkett, Texas; his fiancée, Yesenia Emery of Midland, Texas; his daughter, Claire Hunt of Greenwood, Texas; two brothers, Wesley Hunt, his wife, Marissa, and children, Lilly and Wesley, of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Beck Marlar, his wife, Hayley, and children, Judah and Eva, of Kerrville, Texas; four sisters, Haley Standridge and her husband, Samuel, of The Colony, Texas; Casey Barnard, her husband, Jerry, and children, Dawson and Bitty, of Kerrville, Texas; Jalain Scott, her husband, Colin, and children Kylee and Chandler Bagley, of Midland, Texas; Laura Macias, her husband, Sean, and children Bailey, Callie and Caleb, of Moore, Oklahoma; his grandmother, Gladys Glaser, of Houston, Texas; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, all of whom loved him dearly.

Robert passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.  He was 46 years old.  Robert was generous and loved his family and friends very much.  He especially loved his daughter, Claire, and fiancée, Yesenia.  Robert was always a great son, a loving father, a very special big brother to Wesley and was especially close with all his siblings.  He was an avid softball player, loved to workout, play golf and cornhole, and was always willing to help others.  Robert had an infectious laugh that made you join him in laughter, and we will always remember that.  We have a huge hole in our hearts with his passing.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 1:00PM at Mid-Cities Neely Campus in Midland.
