Robert "Bob" Kelso, 74, of Garden City, Texas, died on Tuesday, August 28, 2007, at the Home Hospice House of Odessa. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, August 31, 2007 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Howard Stovall, officiating. Interment will follow at Garden City Cemetery, Garden City.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home.He was born on February 6, 1933, in Heidenheimer, Texas and married Jayne Miller on February 21, 1954 in Bloomington, Illinois. Bob served 21 years in the United States Air Force. He was a longtime resident of Garden City. He received his master's degree in education in 1980 from UTPB. He taught two years and was elementary principal for 18 years with Glasscock County ISD. He was passionate about education for children. Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing, was an avid sports fan and always attended sports events. He was a devoted husband, father and "PaPa".Bob was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garden City and taught the Adult Sunday School Class.Survivors include his wife, Jayne Kelso of Garden City; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Robbie O'Daniel of Coahoma; three sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Jean Kelso of Big Spring, Ken and Kim Kelso of Santo, and Billy and Shanda Kelso of Post; eight grandchildren, Clayton Kelso and wife, Kelsey, Kelli Mount, Chance O'Daniel, Brendon Kelso, Kelsi Kelso, Kade Kelso, Kara Kelso and Brody Kelso; two great grandchildren, Case Mount and Coby Mount; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Joyce Kelso and Wayne and Linda Kelso all of Temple; an aunt, Norma Lee Sablach of Rogers; his step mother, Norma Jean Kelso of Round Rock, and a step sister, Kay Norton of Round Rock. He was preceded in death by his parents.
