Robert “Bob” Richard Clohessy, 90, of Midland, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 11:00 am at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland. There will be a reception to follow at The Branch at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.Bob was born on October 15, 1927 to Beatrice Emans and Lawrence Clohessy in Danbury, CT. He attended high school and two years of college in Danbury, CT. Bob met his wife, Mary in Danbury and they were married in 1949. To this union are 5 children, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.Bob joined the United States Army in 1949 during the Korean War. He was stationed in Germany from 1950-1954 and 1961-1966. He achieved the highest ranking possible as Chief Warrant Officer 4 before retirement in 1973. After retirement, Bob worked as an agent for New York Life in El Paso, TX. He was offered a position as Training Manager and they moved to Midland. Bob was also the Area Director for the local Toastmasters International. Bob is an avid golfer, playing mainly at Ranchland Country Club. He is also an accomplished bowler playing in many leagues, including leagues in Germany.He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Jane Clohessy; children, Debohra Zaharko; Daphne Brown and husband, Timothy; Douglas Clohessy and wife, Deborah; Roberta Clohessy and husband, Timothy; Dawn Jose and husband, Patrick.He is preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice and Lawrence Clohessy; brother, Lawrence Clohessy, Jr.; sister, Ruth Ruderman.The family would like to express their gratitude towards Legacy Ranch and Compass Hospice.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be donated to the Alzheimer Association.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
