Robbyne Marie Hocker Fuller, 79, of Midland Texas passed away on June 7, 2023. A visitation will begin from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on June 15, 2023 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m on June 16, 2023 at Macedonia Baptist Church 201 S. Carver St. Midland Texas.
Robbyne Marie Hocker Fuller was born on August 30, 1943 to Alvin Pete Hocker and Rosine Butler Hocker in Clarksville Texas. In 1955 her family moved to Midland Texas; they affiliated with Hollowell Methodist Church. Robbyne attended Carver Jr/Sr High School, San Angelo Jr College, Odessa College, she earned her Associates Degree from Midland College in 1996.
She was united in marriage to James E. Fuller on August 22, 1965. From this union a son Jason Everette Fuller was born.
Robbyne always loved art, dance and music. She became the first African American in Midland licensed to sell Real-Estate. After marrying the love of her life, they moved to Lubbock where they lived for 12 years. Robbyne worked for Litton Data Systems until her return to Midland where she began a career at Texas Instruments until her retirement 21 years later.
Robbyne was a community advocate for Human rights, Justice, Respect, fairness and diversity. She was the founder of the Midland Black Chamber of Entreprenuers; She was a committed Entrepeneur who owned several Businesses: She was Secretary of the NAACP; Charter Member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Board member of Midland Festival Ballet. She was Founder and Executive Director of the Midland African American Roots Historical/Cultural Arts Council, Inc. Robbyne was a volunteer of Educate Midland, she was a recipient of the Distinguished Women award in 2022; She was featured in 52 Faces, Midland’s Unsung Heroes and volunteers 2016. She was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church; she was a member of the Bertha Starks Scholarship Committee, a supporter and participant in BOSS (Business office Symposium Series) She was also featured on the PBS series Midland: Our City Our Stories. She was a graduate of the Charter Leadership Midland and Charter graduate of Project Blue Print.
Robbyne is survived by her husband James E. Fuller of Midland Texas, Son Jason Fuller, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren residing in Midland Texas; Justin Davis ,Jashe Fuller,Kendrick Fuller, J’licia Fuller, Jason Fuller Jr, J’vion Fuller,great grandchildren Jakylan Fuller Reed, Keyaaron Fuller, Kassidy Fuller, J’Drew Fuller, Blake Black Jr., Jude Black, and additional Grandchildren and Great grandchildren. Siblings Rosla L. Hocker (twin sister), Iwo Hocker Lee (Vallard), Lottye Hocker Burns, Jeron Hocker Esq, Gwennette Hocker Burns (Wilbord), Larry Hocker(Cathy), Micheal Hocker(Gloria); nieces and nephews: Carole Joyce Neufeld, Anthony P. Mitchell, Dionne Williams, Carla Toney Esq., Courtney Lathan Staff Sergeant(Retired), Kinjii Cuington, Christopher Hocker, Kirsten Hocker,Cory Donley, Jeremey Burns, Sebastian Delgadillo, Jared Kylan Hocker currently serving in the U.S Navy. Natasha Delgadillo, Tyler Hocker.
