Richard Lee Trantham

Richard Lee Trantham, 73, of Stanton, Texas, passed away on March 26, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born on May 27, 1951, Richard married the love of his life, Debra Kay Robinson, on July 14, 1972.

Richard grew up in the Austin area, graduated from San Angelo Central High School, and later established his life in Midland, Texas. He proudly served his country in the Navy for four years, demonstrating a commitment to service that defined much of his life. Following his military service, he enjoyed a prosperous career in the oil industry, where he was known for his dedication and expertise.

Richard was known for his remarkable generosity and kindness. His willingness to give selflessly and support his community made a lasting impact on many lives. Richard’s legacy of compassion and generosity will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Richard was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Debra; his children, Joseph Trantham and Jessica Rich, along with her husband, Cody Rich; and his beloved grandchildren, Brooklyn and Corbin. He is also survived by two brothers, Thomas Trantham and his wife Nelwyn of Webberville, and Carl Ray Trantham of Austin, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo Maurice and Mozzelle Trantham, and a brother who died at birth.

A memorial service to celebrate Richard’s life will be held at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland on March 31, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 30, 2025  from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., providing an opportunity for loved ones to gather and share their memories of Richard. Following the service, a graveside ceremony will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton, Texas. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Rangers Outreach Inc, an organization that was near and dear to Richard’s heart. Donations can be sent to P.O. Richard will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Pallbearers will be Cody Rich, Corbin Rich, Thomas Trantham, Carl Ray Trantham, Don Robinson, Johnny Willis, Devry Kidd, Colton Kidd, and Ricky Archer.
