Richard Bonrud was born 85 years ago.He was a treasured only child who grew up to have an unlimited capacity to love. He faithfully attended to and honored his parents and showed our family the same devotion they had given him.The memories of his life will be shared by his five children Lanell Sauer, Leslee Unruh, Larry Bonrud, Lynn Bonrud and Lonny Papa. Their spouses, his grandchildren and great grandchildren.An unforgettable character “Hotsey” was a friend to many and a delight to know. As his family we are still proud to be Bonruds and we are humbled that we were at his bedside as he was called him July 10, 2016. Jesus said He went to prepare a place for us John 14:2-6 and now “Dad”, “Grandpa Hotsey”, “Your friend Dick” is waiting for us too.A graveside service will be held in South Dakota for friends and family. ,

I just recently found your Dad’s obituary when I was doing family research. I am so sorry for your loss. My dad, Don, always enjoyed spending time with his cousin Dick. I remember him well as such a character—always with a kind smile and a joke. I remember visiting Aunt Irene and Ole with Grandma Rachel at their house in Sioux Falls. I also remember visiting Dick, Joy and my cousins at their home in Sioux Falls when I was very young. May God bless.
