Richard Adam Wiederstein, 63 of Midland, TX, passed away on April 3, 2020. A celebration of life will be held at a later time. Rick was born on May 9, 1956 in McPherson, KS to Allen Wiederstein and Vivian Osmus. Rick attended schools in California and graduated High School in Watonga Ok. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Engineering. He met his wife of almost 42 years Kathy Schwartz, and they married a few days after graduation in 1978. Rick went to work for Phillips Petroleum Co in 1978 and continued with them thru his retirement in 2015. Rick was a wonderful father to his two sons Aaron and Alex while they moved across the United States for work. Rick enjoyed spending time with his family and shared his love of Motorcycles, sports, outdoors, animals, hunting, and world travel with Kathy. Ricks deep devotion to his Catholic faith and love of God was evident in all that he did with his brothers in the Knights of Columbus where he held a 4th degree exemplification. Rick had a servant’s heart that was always willing to give help freely whenever and to whomever it was needed. On any given afternoon you could find him in his chair napping surrounded by his fur babies Herbie, Rooney, Peetie, and Charlie Cat. Rick is survived by his loving wife Kathy, Aaron his wife Dotty, and Alex of Midland Texas; brother Allen and his wife Jeanette, of Edmond, OK, brother Tim of San Antonio Texas, and sister Debbi and husband Mike of Stillwater, OK; sisters-in-law, Mary Jac and Stanley, Paula, Patti and Frank, Angel and Eric, Henri and Brad, Tracee, and Ricky. Rick also had many nieces and nephews, cousins, and Aunts and Uncles.Rick held in his heart so much love for his “son from another continent” Father Francis Onyekozuru. Rick is preceded in death by Mother and Father Vivian and Allen, his Mother and Father in law Shirley and Jack Schwartz; nieces and nephews, as well as aunts and uncles.The family would like to express their gratitude towards the staff on the CCU at Midland Memorial, Dr. Erikson, and Dr. Bassett.
