Ric L. Baccus was born on December 7, 1956 in Monroe, Louisiana to Coy and Neita Baccus.
Ric spent his formative years in all areas of the world because of his father’s work in the oil industry. These experiences are what influenced his love of travel and cuisine.
They finally settled back in the US during Ric’s 9th grade years. Ric graduated from Midland High School. He “dabbled” in college but chose a career in the oilfield. He went to work for Dawson Geophysical and worked there for 30 plus years.
Ric always served the Lord. He was a drummer for First Baptist Church and then was part of the church plant of Stonegate Fellowship. He was their first drummer.
Ric lived and loved life to the fullest. He had a deep love for Jesus and for his family. He loved to fish, sail photography, RC trucks/planes, reading, learning, serving God, music, drumming, teaching, and so much more.
Ric never met a stranger. He was loving to every person he encountered. He truly lived the commandment – Love your neighbor.
Ric married Stacy in July 2006. They recently celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary. Ric loved Stacy with all his heart and was the most incredible husband and best friend to his wife.
In 2010, God put a longing in Ric and Stacy to serve their community. In January 2012 they founded Mission Agape. The mission is to show God’s love in action and to love and give unconditionally. God gave so many amazing gifts and talents to Ric. He accomplished many things but has also left behind many unfinished works. However, we have no doubt he’ll complete them from Heaven.
Although Ric is physically gone, his legacy will live eternally. We love you Ric. We’re going to miss you terribly, but we’ll see you soon.
Ric is survived by his wife Stacy, sons Jake and wife Kali Baccus, David and wife Melissa Baccus, Matthew and wife Danielle Cox, Ben Baccus and fiancée Katie. His grandchildren are Beckett, Everly, Sarah, Matthew, and surrogate grandchildren Mae and Creed Cockrell.
Celebration of Life is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Presence Church 901 Midland Drive, Midland, Texas 79703.
