Rhonda Gail Simpson

Rhonda Gail Simpson, 64, of Big Spring, Texas, passed away on Friday, April 28th, 2023.

Rhonda was a loving wife, mother, granny, sister, aunt, and friend. She knew, trusted, and loved the Lord Jesus with all her heart. She also loved spending time with family and friends be it watching grandkids ride horses or play ball to enjoying back porch sitting and reminiscing with friends. While her family and friends mourn her passing, they are assured that she rests in the presence of God and is at peace.

Rhonda was born on October 24th, 1958 to Buck and Elvie Johnston in Winnfield, Louisiana. She married her best friend and loving husband, Chris Simpson, on August 1st, 1981 in Winnfield, Louisiana.

She is survived by her husband Chris; daughter Melanie Simpson; son Travis and his wife Stephanie Simpson; two beautiful granddaughters CharLeigh Belle and Elvie Opal, all of Big Spring and two very special children, Kolbi Wright and Ayden Barnes, whom she held near to her heart. She is also survived by two sisters, Karon and husband John Hawn and Nikki Smiley of Winnfield, Louisiana; one brother, Greg and wife Debbie Johnston of Montgomery, Louisiana, and many nieces and nephews.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her mother and father, Buck and Elvie Johnston, four sisters, one brother, one niece and nephew, her father and mother-in-law, Bob and Jackie Simpson, and one brother-in-law.

The family will receive friends from 5pm-7pm, Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11am, Friday, May 5, 2023 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
