Reginald Thomas McCaslin passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Reggie was born in Dallas on June 6, 1952, to Mary and Guy McCaslin. He was raised in Richardson and graduated from Richardson High School in 1970. He played varsity football, was active in Young Life, and was very involved in Boy Scouts of America. Reggie earned the rank of Eagle Scout and exhibited the values of scouting throughout his life. He then graduated from Texas Tech University, with a Bachelor of Science degree.
After graduating, Reggie’s career at American Hospital Supply began and he witnessed significant transformations as the company evolved into Baxter, then Allegiance Healthcare, and finally Cardinal Health. After a dedicated career spanning 42 years, he retired in 2017. His journey reflects a deep commitment to the healthcare supply industry of which he was very proud. Shortly after being hired, Reggie moved to Midland where he met the love of his life, Jeri Jan Jolly. They were married at First Baptist Church on April 15, 1978.
Just as he thought he was retired, Reggie was employed by his wife to work for her catering company, The Jolly Chef. He took great pride in serving others and made many lasting friendships. He will always be remembered for “Reggie’s Rolls.”
Reggie’s love for Jesus shaped every aspect of his life. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School, was a deacon, a departmental director with his wife, and served on numerous committees. Nothing was more important to him than seeing that his own daughters knew and loved Jesus as he did.
Reggie is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jeri McCaslin; his daughter, Jessica Harper, and her husband, Scott, and their children, Anna Claire and Dawson of Midland; his daughter, Meredith Harding, and her husband, A.J., and their daughters, Emma and Sutton of Dallas; his sister, Rosemary Thayer, and her husband, Frank, of Houston; his brother, Ron McCaslin, and his wife, Megan, of Nashville, TN; along with many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to a celebration of life for Reggie with the family at 10 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 2nd of November in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, 2104 W. Louisiana Avenue in Midland. A reception will follow in the nearby Welcome Center.
