Ramon G. Torres, Jr., 60, of Big Spring, died Monday, January 23, 2017 at Midland Memorial Hospital. Vigil services will be 7:00 PM Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.He was born May 7, 1956 in Big Spring, Texas and married Rosemary Flores April 17, 1976 in Big Spring.Ramon served in the United States Marine Corps from 1977 to 1982 and the United States Army National Guard. He worked as an EMT/firefighter in California and as a firefighter in Big Spring. He retired as an educator from the Federal Correctional Institution in 2012 in Big Spring.Survivors include his wife, Rosie Torres; one son, Joshua Torres; one daughter, Nadia Torres; one granddaughter, Emarie Martinez; his mother, Consuelo Torres all of Big Spring; one brother, Tony Torres and wife, Velma of Odessa; three sisters, Connie Marquez of DeSoto, Cindy Resendez and husband, Ruben and Carolyn Hernandez and husband, Joseph all of San Antonio; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, Ramon G. Torres, Sr.; his grandfather, Valentin Torres; and his grandmother, Theodora Garcia.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
