R. Chavarria Calletano

Calletano R. Chavarria, 84, of Big Spring, died on Friday, April 20, 2001, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon, Monday, April 23, 2001, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Jeremiah McCarthy, Associate Pastor officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM, Sunday, April 22, 2001 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Mr. Chavarria was born on January 20, 1917 in Valentine, Texas and married Carmen Arzola on January 28, 1972 in Big Spring, Texas. He lived in Big Spring all his life, working as a laborer for a construction company in the Forsan area. He was a hard worker and enjoyed yard work very much. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Chavarria was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Survivors include: his wife, Carmen Chavarria of Big Spring; one daughter, Betty Chavarria of San Antonio; four brothers, Richardo of El Paso, Richard and Juan from California, and Tano Chavarria of Big Spring; three sisters, Rosa Ramirez of Ft. Worth, Esperanza Hilario of San Angelo, and Inez Olivio of Big Spring. He is survived by two grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
