Quirlon Jay Ivy, 79, of Midland, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025. A visitation will begin at 6:00pm on Sunday, October 12th, 2025 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory. Services will be at 10:00am on Monday, October 13th, 2025 at North Western Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Bob Highley, located at 3901 Mockingbird Lane in Midland, Texas. Internment will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens.
Quirlon Jay Ivy was born on January 2nd, 1946 in Boise City, Oklahoma, to Henry Newton and Juanita Lucille Ivy. He grew up in Crane, Texas where he would graduate from Crane High School in 1964. He would go on to serve our Nation in Vietnam from 1966-1967 with the 1st Cavalry Division Airmobile. He was awarded the Bronze Star with the “V” device for acts of valor and heroism during combat. With the fourth-highest combat award in the United States, his area of expertise was as an expert rifleman. After returning home, he would marry the love of his life, Janice Carolyn Campbell. They married on December 27th, 1968 in Crane, Texas. He would work for the El Paso Natural Gas Company and later would become a long time employee with Arco Oil and Gas after moving to Kermit,Tx. The newlyweds would grow their family and have two children named Jason and Joshua Ivy. Jay and Janice lived out their “til death do us part” after being happily married for 56 years.
Jay is survived by his wife, Janice Ivy, of Midland, Tx. Two sons: Jason Ivy and wife Nancy of Midland, TX, and Joshua Ivy and wife Kacee of Tahoka, TX. Four grandchildren: JayAnthony Ivy, and Nathen Ivy, of Midland, TX, and Gunner Ivy, and Gracie Ivy, of Tahoka, TX. Sister: Deloris Wilkerson of Shallowater, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews, brothers from the service, fishing buddies and friends that will hold dear memories forever.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Henry Newton Ivy and Juanita Lucille Ivy as well as siblings: Coy Allen (Cotton) Morris, Leonard Newton Ivy, and Gloria Gale Rowlett.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards Ashton Medical Lodge, Midland Memorial Hospital, Midland Hospice, and the many friends and family who have sent their love and prayers during this time.
