Phyllis Ann Scroggins, 71, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in a Midland care center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, January 20, 2014 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with John Snider, officiating. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the funeral home. Phyllis was born December 12, 1942 in Monahans, Texas, and married Delbert Scroggins August 20, 1961 in Coahoma, Texas. Her family owned the Lil' Sooper grocery store in Coahoma and she worked there starting in 1970. She finally retired in 2007 having also worked at the Walls Clothing Factory. Phyllis was known for her can do attitude. Anything she put her mind to, she would accomplish, like trying to grow something in the garden or restore an old pickup. Phyllis was a very strong Christian woman who was very involved in teaching little children about the Lord, she took this very serious. Through many trials in her life she always found the joy and carried on. Never a negative word to be said of anyone, she loved her family and friends endlessly and was incredibly blessed. She is survived by her husband, Delbert Scroggins of Big Spring; two sons, Dennis Scroggins and wife, Stephanie, and Matt Scroggins and wife, Leslie, all of Big Spring; one daughter, Wanda Levy and husband, Kenneth of Midland; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one sister, Wanda Davis of Aurora, Colorado. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Luther \Bud\ Anderson and Vera Dell Anderson; three brothers, Wendell Joe Anderson, Lonnie Anderson, and James \Buddy\ Anderson; one sister, Linda Dell Anderson; and one grandson, Rauli Tabor Wise. The family suggest memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
