Pete Joe Henderson

Pete Joe Henderson, 81, of Midland, Texas passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel.

Pete was born on April 10^th, 1940 in Shamrock, Texas to J.C. (Pete) Henderson and Mary Jo Melear. Pete was raised on a farm in Old Mobeetie, Texas later moving to Amarillo before moving to Midland in 1952.  He later graduated from Midland High in 1958 before joining the Navy where he served 4 years active duty and 2 years active reserves.  Although he graduated from Midland High he was an avid supporter of Midland Lee and was awarded the “Rebel for Life Award” in 2006.  He was married to Anita (Nita) Henderson on August 2^nd, 1961.  Aside from spending his time watching football, he played a large role in the American Legion and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and being a devoted father and grandfather.

Pete Joe Henderson is survived by Wife – Anita (Nita) Jo Henderson, Sister – Audra Jan McBee, Children – Todd and Misty Henderson, Grandchildren – Ridge Tullos, Justin Henderson, Rileigh Tullos, Rhyan Tullos, and Rhett Tullos, and 4 Great Grandchildren.

Pete Joe Henderson is preceded in death by his Parents – J.C. (Pete) Henderson and Mary Jo Melear and Grandparents – Archie Dollar Henderson and Ida Henderson and William Lonnie Melear and Grace Melear.

The family would like to express their gratitude towards Home Hospice of Midland with special regards to his nurse Melanie and Home Instead with special regards to Toyin.
