Paul E. Wieland

Paul E. Wieland, 95 of Midland, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Paul requested that there be no service.

Paul was born on November 9, 1929 in El Paso, Texas to Anna Grace and George Wieland. He attended the College of Agriculture and Industry in Kingsville.  He attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering.  He was employed at El Paso Natural Gas Company.

Paul married Jean Surratt on August 21, 1954.  They have been married for 70 years.  They had four children.

Paul served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He gained a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service.

Paul is survived by wife Jean of Midland; children, Paula Hopkins and husband Bob of The Woodlands, TX, Barry Wieland and wife Vanessa of Farmington, NM, Bruce Wieland and wife Jackie of Greensboro, NC, and Catherine Wieland of Midland; grandchildren, Brad Hopkins of Brenham, TX, Shannon McKie and husband Joe of Dallas, Caitlyn Mullanix and husband Wayne of Dallas, and  Jared Glaspie of Midland; great grandchildren, Conner McKie, Bradley McKie, Austin Mullanix, and Charlotte Mullanix, all of Dallas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and one sister.
