Patsy was born June 26, 1954 in Brownwood, Texas to John and Argusta (Gussie) Leach Watkins but she was a lifetime resident of Big Spring. She married Glen Cate on June 22, 1971 and they added two children to their family; their son Kevin Cate and their daughter Erika Cate. Patsy’s places of employments included Neefe Optical, MHMR and Scenic Mountain Medical Center but her most cherished occupation was being a devoted Wife, Mother and Nana to her family. Patsy was a Baptist and had been saved early in her childhood.

Patsy is survived by two children: her son Kevin Cate and her daughter Erika Cate. She is also survived by three grandchildren; Gabe Cate, Kisa Cate and KJ Cate, which were the love of her life.

Patsy is also survived by three siblings: John (Darlene) Watkins of Lubbock, Texas; Larry Watkins of Big Spring, Texas and Mildred (DeLloyd) Hooser of Big Spring, Texas. Patsy also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces that will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her spouse in July 2007 and both her parents.

I have loved this whole family for as long as I can remember! We had so many good times, so many laughs & some tears too!! Pat always had a way of making me feel so at home with the Cates She & I kept in touch for many years & always could pick up where we left off! I will forever be grateful for the time we got to spend together recently. It meant so much & very glad that we got to visit and laugh & see each other again! I will treasure those and all the other memories always. My prayers are with her whole family & I know Kevin,KJ, Erika, Kisa & Gabe will continue to make Pat proud as she watches over them! I met Pat many years ago while working for MHMR . She taught me the ropes . Always smiling and friendly, she was a hard worker . Through the years we became friends not just co workers . She use to give me advice about many things in life . We shared many memories . Pat will never be forgotten . She was an awesome person , mother, grandmother and friend.
