Patricia Iden Gillespie, 81, of Lake Colorado City, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 20, 2021, in a Lubbock hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, April 23, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Colorado City. Graveside services will be approximately 4:00 PM Friday at the Ackerly Cemetery, Ackerly, Texas.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring, Texas.
She was born July 29, 1939 in Vealmoor, Texas to Ellis and Dorothy McKee Iden. She married Kenney L. Gillespie July 3, 2000 in Hobbs, New Mexico.
Patricia served as organist for various Baptist churches for over 60 years, the last 21 years at First Baptist Church in Colorado City. Her passion was music, she loved being a wife, mother and grandmother.
A graduate of Ackerly High School, Patricia went on to Hardin-Simmons University where she was a HSU Cowgirl and graduated with her B. A. in Economics. Patricia worked for Skipper Travel which was a family owned business, First National Bank and taught at Howard College. She was involved in the Colorado City Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, the Kiwaniannes, the Garden Club and always volunteered at her church.
Survivors include her husband, Kenney Gillespie of Lake Colorado City; one son, David Hall and wife, Marketa of Houston; one daughter, D’Ann Hall of The Colony; seven grandchildren, Jacob Hall and wife, Tara, and Jackson Hall all of Hutto, Caroline Hall of Florence, Hadley Hall of Houston, Katheryn Fang and husband, Justin and their daughter Evelyn Ann of Lacey, WA, Zachary Porter of Charlottesville, VA and Allison Porter of Seattle, WA. Also surviving are three step-sons, Terrell Gillespie and wife, Mary Beth, of Richardson, Tracey Gillespie and wife, Becky, of Round Rock and Teddy Gillespie of Midland; and six step-grandchildren, Brooke, Kathryn, Victoria, Rylee, Hallie and Hannah.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Jerry Iden.
The family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church, 301 Chestnut St., Colorado City, Texas 79512.
