Pascual Jaquez Martinez II, 74, of Midland, died January 28, 2022, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock with his family by his side. Pascual was born October 17, 1947, in Midland, Texas to Elena Jaquez Martinez and Pascual Martinez Senior. Pascual grew up in Midland with his siblings. In 1966, Pascual graduated from Midland High School. Pascual married Yolanda Martinez in that same year in Midland and began his career at General Service. In 1968, Pascual took over ownership of General Service and still operated the business to present day. General Service was where Pascual obtained many life-long friendships and relationships.
Pascual and Yolanda were blessed with two children, Rhonda and Stephen, and later two grandchildren, Tyler and Autumn. During his free-time, Pascual was involved in competitive softball, and he enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. Pascual was also a member of Saint Stephens Catholic Church. Everyone who knew Pascual knew he always found time for family and friends especially when they were in need, and he was an extremely hard-working man of integrity.
Pascual is survived by his wife Yolanda, his children, Rhonda Youngblood and her husband Larry, and Stephen Martinez, his grandchildren, Autumn and Tyler Murphree, and siblings Manuela Lopez, Maria Martinez, and Gilbert and Edward Mejia, and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Pascual and Elena Martinez and siblings Theodole Alva, Jimmy Martinez, and Edia Hernandez.
Pascual will forever be remembered for his dedication to his business, family, and friends, and for his humor and giving spirit. A rosary will be held 7:00pm, Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland. Funeral mass will be held 10:00am, Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Saint Stephens Catholic Church in Midland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association of the Permian Basin.
