Otis Edward Adams, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and steadfast man of faith, passed away on February 18, 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 82.
Born on October 17, 1942, in Fort Worth, to C.E. and Catherine Adams, Otis grew up with a strong sense of family and dedication. He graduated from Midland High School and Odessa Junior College before earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin. His career spanned public accounting and the oil and gas industry, and he especially enjoyed his years with HCW, working alongside Frank Agar. He concluded his professional journey at OGX.
On August 29, 1970, Otis married Ann Cotton and they began a life-long partnership. For 54 and a half years, they built a life filled with love, laughter, companionship and support. They treasured time with friends and family, hosting gatherings and enjoying games, especially bridge. Their bridge group became an extension of their personal ministry.
Otis found immense pride and joy in his family. His beloved wife, Ann, followed him in death just one day after his passing. He is survived by their daughter, Anda, and her husband, Randy. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, McKenna, Josiah, Luke and his wife, Ashlyn, Moriah, Isaac, Malachi, and Piper. He is also survived by his sister, Norma Skelton of Stanton and brother, Jimmy Adams and his wife, Barbara, of Arlington, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. His presence in their lives was a source of strength, wisdom, love and laughter!
Faith was the cornerstone of Otis’s life. Since 1974, he and Ann were dedicated members of Golf Course Road Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon and elder for over 30 years. He was always available to those in need, embodying kindness, service, and unwavering devotion to his faith community.
Otis leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and devotion. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
A joint memorial service with his wife, Ann, will be held at Golf Course Road Church of Christ on March 1, 2025 at 2:00 pm, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his remarkable life.
