Oleta Ann Weaver, 85, of Big Spring, died Thursday, April 27, 2017 in a local nursing home. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Monday, May 1, 2017 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.She was born April 8, 1932 to Walter A. Allen, Sr. and Georgia Ann Bell Allen on the Miller Ranch in Ackerly, Texas. She had worked for a state agency for five years and then retired for the Big spring State Hospital after 27 years. After retiring, Oleta volunteered at Kentwood Elementary several years reading to the children.Oleta was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church and was also a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.Survivors include one son, Randy Weaver and wife, Denise of Big Spring; two sisters, Mary Owens of Alice and Fannie Bell Adkins of Clyde; two grandchildren, Marci Dawn Weaver Rogers and husband, True of Midland, Michigan and Jarrett Allen Weaver of Big Spring; two great-grandchildren, Tansley Rogers and Marcellous Rogers both of Midland, Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, W. A. \Buster\ Allen, Jr., Joe Allen and Jimmy Allen; and two sisters, Iris Allen and Wilma Marlow.The family would like to thank the staff at Parkview Nursing and Rehab for the excellent care given to Oleta.The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church, P.
