Norma Gonzales

Norma Gonzales, 74 of Midland, peacefully passed away surrounded by family and friends, on Saturday, August 2, 2025. A visitation will begin at 8:00am on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home followed by a rosary at 7:00pm. Service will take place at 10:00am, Friday, August 8, 2025 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Norma was born on April 24, 1951 in Midland, Texas to Laurencio and Julia Arroyo. Norma was very active in Midland.  She was heavily involved with her church, Our Lady of Guadalupe, volunteered with Meals on Wheels of Midland, West Texas Food Bank, and Keep Midland Beautiful. She also enjoyed watching her grandsons play football, watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers, and traveling with her husband, Sam and the Antique Automobile Club of America West Texas Region. Norma, never one to be still, enjoyed working in the yard, planting flowers, pulling weeds and making sure the birds had plenty to eat.

Norma is survived by her husband Sam Gonzales, daughters, Jennifer Cagle and Christina Quiroz, her son-in-law James Cagle, stepsons Sammy Gonzales and Alex Gonzales, her 4 grandchildren, Emily Cagle, Jonas Quiroz, Cameron Quiroz and Ethan Quiroz, her youngest brother, Laurencio Arroyo Jr and sister-in-law, Monica Arroyo, her eldest brother, John Arroyo, and several nieces and nephews.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Laurencio and Julia Perez, and brother, Sam Arroyo.

The family would like to express their gratitude towards the amazing staff at Baylor, Scott, and White Hospital in Dallas, Texas, Oncology staff in Midland, 6th floor Same Day Surgery at MMH and the Hope House Of Midland and the many doctors and nurses who cared for her during her 10 years with cancer, many of whom wear bracelets she made during each of her stays.
