Nick Luca Garcia, 18, of Big Spring, died Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at his residence. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Cornerstone Church with Pastor Michael Willard officiating.A Rosary will be held 7:00 PM, Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel.He was born October 31, 2000 in Big Spring and attended Big Spring schools. He had many talents which included battling at Super Smash Tournaments and even ranked one of the top 3, he was an avid gamer. He also collected swords. Nick spent almost all his life with his true best friend and companion his German Shepard, Samantha, who was by his side every day and though also sick, never turned down the opportunity to play or love on him. Nick truly loved and enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and girlfriend, gaming especially with his sister and watching movies. He was always the life of the party, a jokester, would brighten any room and add a smile to everyone’s face. He was well loved by everyone he came to know. He found a new passion in learning to cook exquisite foods with his brother. He was a risk taker when it came to exotic seafood food dishes. Nick was born very sick, and had several health issues, but never showed it. One of his major accomplishments was surviving brain surgery last year. He was always a fighter.Nick was a full time student and was employed by Dollar General, a job he enjoyed very much.Survivors include his mother, Margie Saucedo and husband, Henry; his father, Victor Garcia and wife, Janie; three brothers, Victor Garcia, Brett Saucedo and Bradlee Saucedo; two sisters, Gloria Garcia and fiancé, Thomas Gigandet, and Micheala Saucedo; his grandparents, Ben and Gloria Garza and Vaudelio Garcia, Sr.; his aunts and uncles, Jerry and Dolores Saucedo, Ralph and Janie Saucedo, Eddie Saucedo, Manuel and Denise Saucedo, Fernando and Lori Saucedo, Richardo Saucedo, Ana Saucedo, Tory Saucedo, Albert and Stacy Saucedo, Ben and Kimberly Garza, Candi Garza, Michael Garza, Kevin and Kim Garza, Starr Garza, Sidney Garza, Vaudelio, Jr. and Mary Helen Garcia, Irene Lakey, Valerio Garcia, Vernor Garcia, Virgil Garcia and Michael and Velen Esquivel; his girlfriend, Alexandra Barreto; his German Shepherd and lifelong companion, Samantha; and his God parents, Israel Aguirre, Jr., Yolanda Gomez and Margarita Olivarez Heredia.He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Maria Gloria Garcia; and a cousin, Valerie May Garcia.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory.
