Newell Wayne Tate, 89, of Midland, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019. He was born September 24, 1929 in Coahoma, Texas to Alvah and Jessie Tate, the 3^rd of 8 children.Newell married Frances Carr in 1951 and was a lifelong farmer in the Tarzan area. They raised 5 children and fostered several more. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Gary, Berwyn, and Truman; and his sister, LaRue Shanks.He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Frances; 5 children, Kelly and wife, Judy, Terry and wife, Dorothy, Laurie, Mark and wife, Teri, and Tim and wife, Elizabeth; 2 brothers, Roger and wife, Sue, and Alan and wife, Carol; and his sister, Janelle and husband, Mike Thomas; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.Private services will be held.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory, Midland, Texas,
