Nancy Alice Pritchard Milner, 78, of Midland, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, surrounded by her family. A burial service at Resthaven Cemetery will take place on the morning of Monday, February 8, 2021, for members of the immediate family. A celebration of Nancy’s life will follow at 2:00 p.m. that afternoon in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church Midland.
Born on December 9, 1942, Nancy grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, with her parents, Curtis and Dolores Pritchard, and three siblings, Eldon, Jerry, and Doris. After graduating from Lake Worth High School in 1961, Nancy attended Cisco College, where she was a member of the Wrangler Belles. She moved to Midland in 1962 and went to work for First National Bank, where she met a young banker, Bill Milner, who would become her husband of more than 57 years. Bill and Nancy were married in the chapel of First Baptist Church on June 28, 1963, and Nancy left her role at the bank later that year to become a full-time homemaker.
In May of 1965, Nancy and Bill welcomed their daughter, Allison Ann, into the world; their son, Derek William, was born five years later, in June of 1970. Outside of tending to children and the Milner home, Nancy volunteered with the PTA, at Midland Memorial Hospital as a “pink lady,” and as a high school band booster. She also dedicated her time and talents to regularly serving in the First Baptist Church nursery and Vacation Bible School program. For fun and fellowship, Nancy enjoyed playing golf and gathering with her ladies’ sewing group. In recent years, one of her favorite social activities was participating in—and often hosting—two bridge groups with friends from church.
Nancy became a grandmother in 1993. She lived to know and love four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom are proud to call her their “Mimi.”
Together with her family, Nancy was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Midland, where she was an active member of the Stephen Department.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Bill; her brother, Jerry Pritchard and sister-in-law, Emma Pritchard; her sister-in-law, Linda Caldwell Pritchard; her children, Allison Smith and Derek Milner, along with their spouses, Sanford Smith and Stephanie Milner; her grandchildren, Mason Smith (and wife Ali Smith), McKenna Smith, Lily Milner, and Ada Milner; her great-grandchildren, Campbell Smith and Parker Smith; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other relatives.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Dolores Pritchard; her brother, Eldon James Pritchard; and her sister, Doris June Pritchard Belknap.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of Midland, First Baptist Church Midland, and Meals on Wheels of Midland.
