Nancy Grantham, 98, of Big Spring, died on Saturday, October 17, 2009, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rick Cunningham, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. She was born in Grady, New Mexico to Albert and Mae Pettigrew. She grew up on a small ranch and attended school there in Grady. She had two sisters and six brothers. Nancy was married to Theodore Harbison and had one daughter, Doris. She later married Herb Boney and had two children, J. T. and Eleanor. Herb passed away while Nancy was still young. She began working as a riveter in Clovis, New Mexico and later moved to Big Spring to be near her sister, Phyllis. She worked many waitressing jobs and sales jobs before becoming a bottle inspector at the Coca-Cola Bottling Plant in Big Spring. In 1948, she married Glenn Grantham and moved to Knott, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Mae Pettigrew; a sister, Lorene Collins; five brothers A. J. Pettigrew, John Pettigrew, George Pettigrew, Edd Pettigrew and Homer Pettigrew; and two great-grandchildren, Dusty Dulaney and Megan Banks. She is survived by one sister, Phyllis Sparks of Cedar Park; one brother, Kit Pettigrew of Clovis, New Mexico; three children, J. T. Boney and wife, Linda of Sand Springs, Doris Banks of Big Spring and Eleanor Cornett and husband, Glenn of Fort Stockton; eleven grandchildren, Cary Banks, Russ Banks, Jake Banks, Toya Dyess, Glenna Dulaney, Ross Cornett, Lori Stennett, Wade Cornett, Samantha Morrow, Kathy Green and Debbie Hodnett; 24 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great grandchildren.
