Mrs. Charlie Vera (Washington) Blake, 75, was born in Marlin, Texas on November 16, 1938. She was the second born to Mr. William and Mrs. Louise Washington, who have preceded her in death. Her brother, Roy Alvin Washington and her husband, Cloyde Blake, Jr., also predeceased her.She moved to Midland with her family in 1953, where she united with Mt. Rose Baptist Church. At the time of her departure, she was a faithful member at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.She attended Carver High School and was a long time employee of Mr. & Mrs. William Jewell. She met and married her soul mate, Cloyde Blake, Jr. on March 15, 1993 and together they shared their lives until the time of his death. During her lifetime, she demonstrated love, and never met a stranger. Vera loved her family and that's all that mattered.We have all been truly blessed to have her touch our lives and hearts. Charlie Vera leaves behind her two loving daughters, Tammy E. Whiteside and Patrice D. Sledge; two sons, Derrick D. Roberts and wife, Cathy, all of Midland, Texas and Michael J. Blake of Waco, Texas; two sisters, Vernell Dorn of Houston, Texas, Mary L. Mitchell of Odessa, Texas; brother, Charles E. Washington of Houston, Texas; seven loving grandchildren, Nicole Mason, La Toya Campbell, Nikita Campbell, Kareana Roberts, Clydasha Roberts, Denzel Roberts, Joshua Ross all of Midland, Texas; eleven great-grandchildren, Da’vion Mosley, Darrion Mitchell, Jaeda Parrish, Jayla Parrish, Morgyn Fennell, Thomas Stewart, Karon Stewart, Drake Roberts, Savannah Roundtree, Kandyn Beaty, and Adonbreon Golden; special friends, Karen Bowers, Sue Ward, and Austin Miller; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.A visitation honoring Charlie Vera's life will be held on Sunday, July, 13, 2014 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home of Midland. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 11:00am at True-Lite Christian Fellowship. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the \Nuff Sed\ youth basketball team of Midland.,
