Mildred "Millie" Marple Wright, 76, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, November 2, 2005, in a Lubbock hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 7, 2005 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Raford Dunagan, officiating and Rev. Joel Miller, pastor of North Birdwell United Methodist Church, assisting. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.She was born on September 1, 1929, in Mingo, West Virginia and married Ed Wright in 1950 in Goodwell, Oklahoma, while they were attending college.Mildred worked at Webb Air Force Base and then for Big Spring Independent School District for 25 years as an attendance clerk. She enjoyed cookbooks, cooking, magazines, reading, crocheting, gradening, shooting with her husband and sitting on the back porch observing nature. Mildred was a beautiful person, a wonderful wife and mom. She was a member of North Birdwell Lane United Methodist Church and a member of Big Spring Chapter #67, Order of the Eastern Star.Survivors include her husband, Ed Wright of Big Spring; her daughter, Kathy Wright Kitten and husband, Lloyd of Slaton; six sisters, Betty Roger and husband, John of Paulden, Arizona, Alene Lamkin of Anchorage, Alaska, Barbara Blackshear and husband, Bob of Big Spring, Sandra Todd and husband, Loyd of Sixes, Oregon, Karen Mason and husband, Tom of Muleshoe, and Dian Jackson of Langlois, Oregon; three brothers, Buren Marple and Arval Marple both of Langlois, Oregon and Kemper Marple and wife, Susan of Pocatello, Idaho, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
