Michael Harold Scruggs was born December 23, 1953 in Weatherford, Texas, and is now gone fishing in the Heavenly River on April 21, 2016. The family will receive guests from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Monday, April 25, 2016 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland.Mike grew up in Fort Worth in the neighborhood of Westland. He enjoyed the close-knit community with his cousins and neighbors and became lifelong friends with many. Every spare moment was spent hunting, fishing, golfing and music. Following the oil field work, he ended up in Midland Texas. He was an electronic technician and did that work until his retirement in January of 2016. He had made many plans to return to his favorite hobbies. His love of yard art was one of his passions and his recent addiction to crabgrass annihilation.He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Josie Scruggs; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Gene Whitt; and brothers-in-law, Michael and John L’Ecuyer.He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jan Scruggs; his daughters, Kalena Michelle and her husband, Michael Womack of Andrews, Texas and Amanda Jo Scruggs of Midland; three very special critters in his life, Smartie, Dupey and Toby; brother-in-law, Lindsay (Tink) L’Ecuyer and his wife, Beth; his sister-in-law, Lynn (Winnie) L’Ecuyer, and many cousins, nieces and nephews; wonderful friends and family and the two thousand birds he fed every weekend.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
