Michael \Mike\ Peterson, 52, of Big Spring, died Thursday, March 31, 2016 in a Lubbock hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Trinity Baptist Church of Big Spring with Rev. Walter McCall officiating. Interment will follow at Vealmoor Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.Michael was born Thursday, July 4, 1963 in Big Spring and married Penny Grantham May 2, 1983 in Coahoma.He attended Vincent Baptist Church. Michael loved being a farmer. He loved barefoot water skiing, bird hunting and fishing. He loved playing with his grandkids.Michael is survived by his wife, Penny Peterson; a son, Cade Peterson and wife, Shiloh; a daughter, Mika Peterson of Vealmoor; his parents Larry and Charlotte Peterson of Luther; a sister Shellie Peterson of Las Vegas, Nevada; a brother Craig Peterson of Big Spring; his in-laws Grady and Ann Grantham of Knott; four grandsons Payden Zant, Kooper Zant, Cason Peterson, and Kanon Peterson; 2 nieces and 2 nephews Chance and Chelsie Grantham, and Taylor and Lexi Peterson; 1 great niece Reagan Grantham; and numerous cousins.He was preceded in death by his grandparents Carl and Vera Peterson .The family suggests memorials go to American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 3511 10th St., Lubbock, TX 79415Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
