Michael D. "Mike" Zimmerman, 57, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, March 11, 2010, in a local hospital.The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Monday, March 15, 2010 at the Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home.Mike was born on November 8, 1952, in Phoenix, Arizona to Clifford and Thenna (Ashton) Zimmerman and married Lea Conley on May 22, 1995.Mike worked in the lumber yard for Harris Ace Hardware for eleven years. He loved woodworking, especially making furniture in his shop.Survivors include his wife, Lea Zimmerman of Big Spring; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jeremiah and Jennifer Zimmerman of England, Joseph and Annissa Zimmerman of Arizona and Mike and Amber Conley of Colorado; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shawnna-Anne and Perry Benson of Virginia and Cynthia and Matt Graham of Colorado; eight grandchildren; his mother, Thenna Zimmerman of Arizona; one brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Sue Zimmerman of Arizona; one sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Paul Jones of Missouri; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Zimmerman in January of 2004.The family would like to especially thank Mike's "Ace Hardware Family" and suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, % Sandy Griffin, 1217 E. 17th, Big Spring, TX 79720.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring. Dad--I will miss you forever and love you even longer. Once, when I was a little boy you told me that you loved Joseph, Shawna, and me more than there were stars in the sky and that your love would last longer than them all. Lea, I was so sad to hear of Mike's passing. Although I have not worked at Harris Lumber in 7 years, they are still family to me. I will always remember the wonderful attitude and dedication that Mike had to his work, his fellow co-workers, and mostly to his family.
