Merrilyn Anne Mack, 69, of Midland, Texas, went to be with her heavenly Father on November 4, 2024.
Merrilyn was born on July 27th, 1955 to Beulah Merrilyn Walters and Arnold Martin Walters in Emporia, Kansas. Merrilyn attended Kansas Avenue Elementary School in Emporia, Kansas, Pueblo Jr High in Los Alamos, New Mexico and Los Alamos High School where she finished her junior year and would later obtain a GED. Merrilyn graduated from Midland College in 1997 with an Associate of Applied Science degree and went on to be a paralegal.
Merrilyn married Ron Killough at a young age in Los Alamos, New Mexico and they had one child, Christopher Killough. Merrilyn met her second husband, Robert Mack in Espanola, New Mexico and they were married on December 30th, 1980. After they were married, they lived in Espanola and Los Alamos and would later find their way to Midland, Texas. They had 3 children, John Mack, Michael Mack, And Michelle Mack.
Merrilyn was a long-time member of St Luke’s United Methodist Church. She volunteered with the Stitchers Group, Vacation bible school, The Pumpkin Patch, and even the nursery. She had a true servant’s heart and will be missed deeply by her church family.
Merrilyn was a true joy to be around, she was always smiling, even when facing troubling times and adversities. Her faith in God was unwavering, even up to her final days. She loved her children with her whole heart, and even if she was struggling herself, she made it possible to help her children when they needed it more. She always thought of others before herself and was even a little hardheaded at times.
Merrilyn is preceded in death by her husband Robert Mack, son Michael Mack, mother Beulah Peterson, father Arnold Walters, and sister Tracy Marin.
Merrilyn is survived by her son Christopher Killough and wife Ellen Killough of Midland, Texas, son John Mack of Midland, Texas, daughter Michelle Mack and husband Sammy Zachery of Midland, Texas, sister Kathy Singer of Topeka, Kansas, sister Brenda White and husband Marvin White of Topeka, Kansas and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Memorial services for Merrilyn will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024 at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Midland, Texas at 1:00 PM. A reception will follow immediately after the service for fellowship and friends to offer condolences. There will be a private burial held for the immediate family.
