Melba Noel Kreidel, was born on June 15th, 1936, in Brownfield, Texas to William and Gladys Noel. She grew up in Loraine, Texas on a cotton farm where she graduated from Loraine High School in 1954. After graduation Melba moved to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. While working as a telephone operator in Sweetwater, TX at the age of 21, Melba met and 3 months later married the love of her life Bill Kreidel, on August 3rd, 1957.
In 1962 they moved to Midland with two children, Mike and Sharon. Shortly after moving to Midland, they came to Wilshire Park Baptist Church. She had her third child, Karen, in 1965. Melba loved her family, but her greatest love was her Lord and Savior. Along with being a devoted wife and mother she had plenty of hobbies. Melba loved to cook, read, garden, and spend all her time with her friends and family. She loved sharing her favorite childhood memories and the hard work she did to build her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Stuteville and husband Jim of Midland and daughter Karen Smedley and husband Ron of Midland; daughter-in-law Carol Kreidel, sister-in-law Jackie Kreidel, and brother-in-law Bob Kreidel; grandchildren Brad Stuteville and wife Anna of Lubbock, Dalton Stuteville and wife Sarah of Midland, Kaci Nguyen and husband Nick of Midland. Jon Smedley and wife Lindsey of Arlington, Josh Smedley and wife Rachel of Midland, and Wayne Kreidel of Midland; great grandchildren Grayson, Kaylee, Jacob, Avery Stuteville; Cole and Audrey Stuteville; Noah and Maci Nguyen; Elijah, Ian, Abigail, and Alyson Smedley; Hayleigh, Mackenzie, Reagan, Kylee, and Tristen Smedley; many nieces and nephews; and her best friend Wanda Duncan.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Bill Kreidel, son Mike Kreidel, parents William and Gladys Noel, brothers Jennings, Boyd, R.C., and Turner, and sisters LaVeda, Wanda, Mary Helen, Lillie and Viola.
We sincerely want to thank her church family. A special thank you to her best friend, Wanda Duncan, for being such a faithful and wonderful friend and for always being there for her. For that our family will be eternally grateful.
