Melba Alyene Bradshaw, 96, of Stanton, died on September 16, 2017 in a Stanton Nursing Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at First Baptist Church, Stanton with David Harp officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring, Texas with son, Troy Wayne Bradshaw, officiating.Alyene was born April 19, 1921 in Scott County, Arkansas. She and her family moved to Fannin County, Texas in a covered wagon when she was a young child. She married Troy C. Bradshaw on December 17, 1938 in Honey Grove, Texas.Alyene and Troy moved to the Lomax community in Howard County in 1942. They then moved to the Courtney community in Martin County in 1945 where they lived for over 55 years before moving to Stanton. Alyene was a superb homemaker and took great delight in cooking, sewing, crocheting, and making quilts for her family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers at time.Survivors include two sons, Troy Wayne Bradshaw of St. Louis, Missouri and Darrell Bradshaw and wife Nancy of Stanton; two daughters, Martha Byrd and husband Sam of McKinney and Cheryl Jones and husband Jerry of Graham; son-in-law Richard Martel of Frisco; and Martha J. Bradshaw of Dallas; nine grandchildren, Carl Bradshaw, Misha Navarro, Kristi Beard, Lance Martel, Eric Martel, Carrie McGuire, Jarrett Bradshaw, Brandon Jones, and Avery Eenigenberg; and 18 great grandchildren.Her parents, husband Troy C. Bradshaw, daughter Mary Martel, a brother; a sister, and twin great granddaughters preceded her in death.The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Midland, 911 West Texas, Midland, Texas 79701 or to the Martin County Senior Citizens Center, PO Box 1233, Stanton, Texas 79782.Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
