Maxine Kelly, 81, of Stanton, died on Friday, February 11, 2005, in a Midland hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, February 14, 2005 at the Downtown Church Of Christ Stanton with Elmore Johnson of Lubbock retired minister, officiating and Van Pendergrass of Downtown Church Of Christ will assist. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. The family will receive friends Sunday February 13 from 2 P.M. to 4 P. M. at the funeral home. She was born on September 21, 1923, in Mitchell County, Texas and married W. Owen Kelly on February 2, 1941 in Seminole, Texas. Mrs. Kelly came to Martin County in 1938. She enjoyed upholstry, cooking sewing and different hobbies. She was a member of Downtown Church Of Christ and also a member of Beta Sigma Phi the Hospital Auxilary, and the Home Demonstration Club. Survivors include her husband, W. Owen Kelly of Stanton; three sons & daughters-in-law, Bobby Owen & Janice Kelly of Stanton, Roy and Sue Kelly of Stanton, and Terry and Roxy Kelly of Midland; one daughter & son-in-law, Sandra and Eddie Cooley of Midland; her sister & brother-in-law, Deloris and Carey Boyer of Denton; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Herman Cain, and two sisters, Ruby Calhoun and Oleta Flowers. Her grandsons, Jim Bob Kelly, Austin Kelly, Ryan Kelly, Sloan Kelly, Keagan Kelly, and David Pinkerton served as pallbearers. Arrangements under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
