I never had the pleasure of meeting Matt in person, however, I helped him with his commercial insurance for 14 year and I always found him pleasant and easy to work with even when I had to tell him his rates were going up 25% just because. We here at Central Insurance Agency are going to miss him. My deepest sympathies to Lisa and his family. May they find peace in their memories of Matt.

My deepest condolences and prayers for the Worden family. Although I only knew Matt and his family for a few short years, the entire family touched my life and afforded me the opportunity to do something I dreamed of, play semi pro football. The bond and friendship created will live on for years to come. May GOD give you peace and understanding during this time. SEMPER FI BROTHER!!!

The Worden family is such a beautiful one. They taught me a different way of being, I am so lucky to have been able to spend so much time around y’all in my youth. I’ll never forget when I stepped on a thumbtack over there and Matt picked me up like it was nothing and sat me on the counter, one quick pull and it was out. He doctored up my foot and I was on my way. Even though he like to come off as a rough and tough dude, no one could deny he was a big softie. Here is to the man who could do anything, rest in peace. Love to the family.

I first met Matt about 20-years ago, when I contacted him for some estimates for a roofing and siding project that was planned for one of our properties in Texas. He pulled into the property in his pick-up…and out stepped this huge guy with long hair in a pony tail. My first thought was…”Oh Shit”…..followed by “This should be quick”. We walked toward each other and he said, “Hello Sir, I’m supposed to meet with Al”. I told him that I was Al and he immediately reached his hand out and “Good to meet you sir, I’m Matt with Gridiron”. After a few minutes of talking with Matt…every preconceived thought I had was gone and I immediately thought of the old saying, “Never judge a book by it’s cover”. I was so impressed by Matt, not only his knowledge of his profession…but his humor, his personality and the feeling I got of him simply being a great person. Well, over the years, Matt did not disappoint. He continued being the same person I first meet that day. As I’ve mentioned in other posts on Facebook, i.e., Matt was a big man in stature with an even bigger heart. You could NOT meet Matt and NOT like him. He was that person that you immediately wanted to be friends with….and for all of the right reasons. I haven’t seen Matt in some years, as I live in Minnesota…but we did keep in touch via Facebook or an occasional call. And even though we hadn’t seen each other in a while, my heart sank when I heard and sad news. My deepest condolences goes out to ALL of Matt’s family. Not only is this a huge lose for everyone that knew and loved Matt…but it’s also a huge lose for all those other people that will never get the chance to meet him. He will truly be missed by all…..😔

I've known Matt for several years playing semi-pro football and enjoyed listening to him talk about his kids. We always laughed with him year after year about him retiring from playing and his response was always the same: "I love it too much and I love being with the guys". Matt thank you for your friendship! You will never be forgotten! Our thoughts and prayers to the Worden family and friends.

Matt 'Two Bears' Worden was one of our most favourite people in the world. And we just cannot believe that he is gone. Although Danny and I live in Spain, there was frequent, lively contact over social media with Matt who was always a pleasure to communicate with. We finally got to meet him in Miami on board the Monsters of Rock Cruise in Feb. 2020, along with Justen. He was as funny and cool in person as he had previously seemed 'in print'. Always enthusiastic and larger than life, Matt was a big supporter of my husband's band 'Tyketto' and went out of his way to show his appreciation of Danny's musical offerings, and also my little creative outbursts. The thousands of miles between us all just melted away. He was clearly a family-loving man, extraordinarily gifted and talented in any number of areas, a whole lot of fun to be around, fiercely passionate about rock music, and had a heart the size of Texas itself. We have never known a more sincere, authentic and selfless man. Our heartfelt condolences go to all of his family, friends and business contacts as well as his sporting colleagues who know only too well that there was 'only one Matt Worden'. He is missed and honoured in Spain today, and will always be remembered with great fondness and respect. We wish we could be there for the service and hope the stream will be available afterwards as so many people in other time zones would like to pay their respects to this great and wonderful man. With all our love, Melissa and Danny Vaughn

Our hearts are broken with the news of Matt’s passing. We wish to send our deepest condolences to everyone that loved Matt. Especially his family (near and far). To say he was a great man is an understatement. Matt was a Champion of a man. A brilliant spot in the lives of so many, his adoring family especially. His presence will be missed, his legacy will live on. Sending love and prayers from Oregon.
