Mary Sue Walker

Mary Sue (Smith) Walker, age 90, of Big Spring, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022. Funeral Services will be held 10:00am, Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

She was born November 22, 1931 in Knott, TX and married Jerrold Walker November 22, 1949 in Big Spring, TX.

Mary Sue grew up the daughter of a farmer, working in the fields from a young age. She continued this profession throughout her life, adding ranching and secretary work after marriage. Mary Sue was an active member of the church, seizing any opportunity to volunteer and help her fellow man. Gardening was a favorite past time, and she was quite proud of her flowers. Her generosity and love will not be forgotten.

Survivors include her daughter Melanie English of Big Spring, TX; grandson Brandon Gressett of Dallas, TX; sisters Leola Newton and Jewel Stovall, both of Big Spring and Helen Rowe of Dallas, TX. She also has many adoring nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son Mark Walker and husband Jerrold Walker.

The family suggests memorials to her church, Salem Baptist, or her favorite charity, The Gideon’s International Organization.
