Mary Louise Kincade, 85, of Big Spring, died on Monday, March 2, 2009, in a local nursing home.She was born to William Wallace Waters and Lottie May on January 30, 1924 in McIntosh, Fla. She graduated from P. K. Yonger Laboratory High School in Gainesville, Florida in 1942. On June 1, 1946 she married William "Kinny" Kincade in Fresno, CA and they were married 49 years. He preceded her in death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Billy Waters and sister, Edythe Gatrell. She is survived by three children, William Luis Kincade and wife, Katherine of Big Spring, Mary Ann Hill and husband, Jeffrey of Los Alamos, NM and step-son, Stephen Kincade and wife, Sylvia of Alaska; a sister, Charlotte Morff of Orange Lake, Florida; two brothers, Jack Waters of Orange Lake, Florida and Robert Waters and wife, Betty of Crystal River, Florida; and three grandchildren, Zachary Hill, Mary Elizabeth Kincade and Nicholas Hill.Mary felt it was an honor to serve in World War II and the Korean War. She was a member of WAVES National, a member of Navy Mail Service Veterans Association, a life member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees of Socorro Chapter #1402, a life member of Magdalen Chapter #9 Order of the Eastern Star, member of the Daughters of the Confederacy Nova Mitchell McDowell Chapter #2228 in Albuquerque, NM, member of the Great Granddaughters Club of the Confederacy in El Paso, a member of Socorro County Historical Society and a member of the Friendly Sewing Club. Mary was a deacon in the First Presbyterian Church of Socorro.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church of Socorro.
