Mary Jane Wilmeth, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 22, 2018. She was 75 at the time of her death. A memorial service to celebrate Mary Jane’s life will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 1:00pm at Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home.\tMary Jane was born October 13, 1943 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was adopted as a young girl by J.C. and Lois Geraldine Williamson and grew up in Midland, TX. Mary Jane graduated from Midland High in 1961. She moved to Tyler in 1970 but later returned to Midland in the 1980’s and worked for her father at JC Williamson Oil Company, and later the family trust, from 1985 until 2017.\tIn 1988, Mary Jane met a handsome cowboy, Tom Wilmeth, and went on what would be her final first date. They married on December 20, 1990 and spent the next 28 years together raising kids and some very spoiled dogs and donkeys. Tom turned Mary Jane on to fishing, and some of her happiest times were spent sitting on the back of a boat with a Zebco 33 while reading a book and getting a tan. Anyone who knew Mary Jane could tell you how much she loved her family, her world revolved around them and the times spent at the lake fishing, playing the slots, holidays (especially Christmas), playing poker and board games, listening to music and dancing, and trips to Tyler and the mountains of New Mexico. Those mountain trips started at a very rustic cabin outside of Artesia but ended at the much more modern house (running water and electricity!) she and Tom purchased in Ruidoso. That house was her absolute favorite place to go, whether it was just the two of them or all of their kids and grandkids making messes and noise and chaos. She spent her final days on this earth at that house and we will all remember the special memories it holds.\tMary Jane is survived by her husband of 28 years, Tom Wilmeth of Midland; daughter Connie Barnes and husband Roger of Midland; daughter Fawn Duval and husband Scott of Tyler; daughter Leslie Moore of Midland; daughter Christi Sockwell and husband Dustin of Midland; daughter Anna Busick and husband Josh of Midland; son Steven Feris of Midland; grandchildren Amber Wallace and husband Brian of Tyler; Andrew Duval and wife Roxie of Tyler; Rylee Peart and husband Ty of Tyler; Brady, Emerson and Witten Moore of Tyler; Hayley, Reagan, Taylor and Piper Sockwell of Midland; Brennen, Karsen, and Briggs Busick of Midland; great-grandchildren Everett Peart, Attlee Peart, Leilani Wallace, and Emma Duval, all of Tyler; sister Ruth Ann Chancellor and husband Jim of Rockwall; sister Charla Williamson of Midland; sister Toni Croft and husband Chancy of Anchorage; brother Jimmy Myers and wife Janice of Fayetteville; sisters-in-law Karolyn Rogers and husband Jerry and Donna McLaren and husband Craig, and brother-in-law Roger Lyle and wife Candy, all of Midland; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.\tShe is preceded in death by her parents, John Conwell (JC) Williamson and Lois Geraldine (Jerry) Williamson, her beloved sister Margaret Hillin, and her brothers Ralph Williamson, Tommy Haskins, and Rayburn Myers.\tThe family would like to express their thanks to the doctors, nurses and medical staff at Lincoln County Medical Center. If anyone would like to donate in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in Mary Jane’s name.\tArrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland, TX.
