Mary B. Cortez

Mary B. Cortez Rodriquez, age 59, passed away on December 24, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She will lie in-state from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025 at Nalley-Pickle Rosewood Chapel. Visitation will be held that same evening at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park in Big Spring.

Mary was born on April 17, 1966 in Big Spring, TX to Alfonso “Poncho” and Delfina Cortez.

She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially spending her time reading, listening to music and dancing with family and friends. Above all else, Mary cherished her family. She loved to be surrounded by them and took great pride in spoiling her grandchildren.

Mary loved sitting in the sun with her big cup of ice-cold Dr Pepper, enjoying the warmth and peace of the moment. Her love, laughter, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Mary is survived by her children, Rebecca Rodriquez (Sam Gray), David Rodriguez (Marisa), Kameron Rodriquez (Tyree Williams); grandchildren, Analeah, David, Julian, Alaylah, Justice, Sammi, Christian, Arrianna, Maurice, Sondra, and September; siblings, Alfonso Cortez (Margarete), Linda Cortez, Baldomar Cortez (Gloria), Gilbert Cortez (Barbara), and Christina Cortez (J.R. Ramirez); numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfonso “Poncho” & Delfina Cortez; and niece, Alexandria Cortez.
