Mary Ann Alberts, age 79 of Colorado City passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022.
She was born January 22, 1943 in Brownfield, TX to A.C. and Thena Kidd. Ann grew up outside of Colorado City where she met and married Eddie Alberts on June 9, 1959 on the family farm near Silver, TX.
Ann lived in many towns and even in a few different states until she settled down in Crane, TX, where she for worked many years as a manager for a local department store. She was often known as an aggressive bunco player! After Eddie’s passing in 2005, Ann moved in with her son Truman and spent the majority of her time in Stanton and had recently moved to the family lake house at Lake Colorado City.
Survivors include her son, Truman Alberts of Colorado City TX; grandsons: Edward and Laura Alberts of Stanton, TX, and Clayton Ketchum of Moore, OK; granddaughters: Kaitlyn Evans of Midland, TX, Amy Evans of Stanton, TX, and Amber Alberts; 6 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Gene Alberts; parents, A.C. and Thena Kidd; brothers: Adron Kidd and Milton Kidd; and daughter, Jeanne Ann Alberts-Box.
The family suggests memorials to Martin County Meals-on-Wheels, Martin County Food Bank,
Per Ann’s wishes family will not be holding a funeral service. The family will be hosting a gathering of family and friends at a later date.
