Martin Boyd

Martin Robert Boyd, 70 of Big Spring, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023 at his residence. Graveside services with Naval Honors will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Mount Olive Memorial Park.

Martin was born July 25, 1952 in Lampasas, Texas to parents Edith Paula (Goode) Boyd and Alvin Boyd. He served in the United States Navy for 22 years, 3 months and 2 days. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He loved his country and was proud to be a Republican and was very patriotic. He relocated to Big Spring in 2008 and worked alongside his brother, Marvin, at Boyd’s Auto Glass. Martin and Marvin were identical twins and shared a very special bond throughout their lives.

Martin is survived by one daughter: Christina Smith and husband Aaron; one son: Randall Boyd and wife Sandy, his twin brother: Marvin Boyd and his wife Shirley; grandsons: Easton Smith and Kyle Boyd; granddaughters: Annabelle Smith and Aryella Diomedes; son-in-law: Aaron Smith; daughter-in-law Sandy Boyd and a niece Lisa Garza.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Malinda Feek; one brother: “Ira “Skipper” Boyd; his step-father: Louis Gary and a niece: Melinda Boyd.
